Who we are

At Gateway Church of the Nazarene, we want to be our community's point of entry to Jesus, the Good Shepherd, who in John 10:9 says, "I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture." Just as St. Louis is historically the Gateway to the West, we believe our church is God's access point to Him and all that He has for us.

At Gateway, we hear the Good Shepherd's voice through prayer. Jesus said, "My House will be a House of Prayer." Seeking the face of God is the foundation and focus of every aspect of this church. We seek God's manifest presence through worship, prayer meetings, and even decision-making sessions. We fervently pray for revival and for people to grow in Christ.

At Gateway, we strive to be God's gatekeepers which means that we love on everyone coming through our doors just as a shepherd cares for his sheep. We welcome people from all walks of life and backgrounds, and we help people "find pasture" through discipleship programs and cell groups. Check out our ministries for all ages throughout the week.

We are also a part of the Church of the Nazarene, which is a Protestant Christian church in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition. Organized in 1908, the Church is now home to more than 2.2 million members worshiping in over 29,000 local congregations in 159 world areas.
